CS-DAYAre you interested in robotics, web security, gaming or computer programming? Want to see what it’s like to study computer science? Dalhousie’s Faculty of Computer Science (CS) is hosting its annual CS-Day on February 11th, 2012.
You’ll have the opportunity to meet CS students and professors. You’ll also tour the CS building and get a firsthand look at what a computer science education can offer you. In addition to the workshops you’ll enjoy a free an all-you-can-eat lunch in one of the dining halls as well as participate in a guided campus tour. NACEL CANADA OFFERS SCHOLARSHIPS TO BRAZIL, GERMANY, FRANCE AND QUEBEC
Nacel Canada, a not for profit cultural exchange organization since 1957 , is once again offering scholarships valued at $6,000 - $12,000 to Nova Scotia students between the ages of 15 and 18 during their program year, to participate in an exciting and rewarding cultural exchange opportunity.
If you have a keen desire to learn about life in another culture or country, are open minded and adventurous, have good study habits and are well adjusted both socially and academically , this might be an educational experience that is perfect for you . Scholarships are available to any student in Nova Scotia who is between the ages of 15 and 17 and enrolled in high school. Students who are currently 14 years of age and in Junior High School are also encouraged to apply. Scholarships for the 2012-13 school year are offered for either a full school year or a fall or winter semester to Brazil , Germany , France or French Quebec. The deadline for preliminary applications has been extended to February 6th, 2012, so please visit our scholarship website right away to access the information and request your scholarship application package. .www.nacel.ca/scholarship Please make sure you visit this website and not the general Nacel website. There is no fee to apply, but you must have your parent’s consent. We hope to see many students in Nova Scotia embrace this wonderful opportunity, just as many other Nova Scotia students have in the past. We currently have 10 students from Nova Scotia who received scholarships last year and are living their dream of studying abroad. You may fax it toll free at 1 800 837 4988 The Toyota Earth Day Scholarship Program encourages and rewards graduating Canadian high school students who have distinguished themselves through environmental community service, extracurricular and volunteer activities, and academic excellence. The Toyota Earth Day Scholarship Program grants 20 awards, each valued at $5000, toward tuition, books, room and board (where applicable) or other educational expenses for the first year of post-secondary full-time studies in Canada. Of the 20 winners, there will be a national winner too!
